Salary Range: $46085 - $101706 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a Financial & Administrative Management Specialist in the Tactical Electronic Warfare, Code 574000 division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Major Duties:

  • You will manage the financial and accounting requirements of the Branch.
  • You will ensure that all charges entered into the branch and ERP financial database are accurate, appropriate, and properly designated with correct cost accounting codes.
  • You will ensure that the branch financial database is reconciled with NRL financial reports.
  • You will ensure that all Branch labor charges are properly recorded and entered in the required time keeping system accurately and on time.
  • You will process all incoming funding acceptances and recalls, establish work units and charge numbers as required, and assure that funding is correctly allocated.
  • You will facilitate the technical work of the branch by proactively supporting the Branch Head, Section Heads, and project managers in the management of project finances.
  • You will provide ongoing monitoring of the Branch financial status as well as individual project status and identify potential issues before they arise and addresses problems if they do arise.
  • You will develop options and recommendations for the Branch Head, Section Head, or project manager as needed or requested.
  • You will stay abreast of any changes in rules and regulations as they apply to the Branch, seek clarification as required, and update any financial processes within the Branch as needed.
  • You will develop reports to present branch financial status to both the Branch Head and as requested by the Administrative Officer, and the Division Head on a reoccurring basis, including unexpended balance projections and future funding projections.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes at least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01/04) or pay band (NO-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Utilizing experience in the fields of financial management, recordkeeping, and accounting; and 2) Using spreadsheets and databases for the use of financial accounting.
