Financial Accountant - 3 month contract (m/f/d)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated financial accountant on a contract basis (3 months initially) to join our finance team no later than January 2nd 2026.

You will be responsible for month end/year end process and statutory reporting processes across EU entities.  In this role you would manage and maintain General Ledger activities and sub-ledger details for various assets and liabilities including, but not limited to, bank, intercompany, prepayments, and accruals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, with proven experience managing month-end and year-end processes in fast paced environments. You will be highly proficient in general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting and preparing audit ready schedules. Strong communication skills, a hands-on approach and a familiarity with SAP 4 Hana are essential. Above all you must be adaptable, detailed orientated and comfortable providing stability and expertise during a critical financial reporting period.

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • SAP/S4 Hana – Essential
  • Month-end reporting experience – Essential
  • Ideally 4-5 years working experience (2-4 PQE), ideally with experience working with multi territory business/multi currency accounting.
  • Strong excel skills (SUMIFs/Pivots/VLOOKUPS), with knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset.
  • Solid understanding of Local GAAP and IFRS. Experience with statutory accounts preparation and audit processes is preferred.

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations (bank, prepayments, accruals, deferred revenue etc)
  • Lead month-end and year end close (full general ledger management)
  • Preparation of group reporting deliverables on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. Financial reporting – produce month end management reports and support with preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Assist with technical accounting matters -provide insight on accounting treatments
  • Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support (i.e., Treasury, FP&A)
  • Support on group and local statutory audits
  • Supporting the external advisors in the preparation of the governmental required filings such as VAT returns, EU Sales Listings, and any other census or statistical reporting as required by the country
  • Assist in the creation of controls documentation to evidence the timely operation of financial controls
  • Assist the Finance Manager on special ad-hoc projects, as required
