About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a motivated and details-focussed Finance Partner to deliver high-quality financial advance and project accounting services to clients within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences.

Working as part of a collaborative, client‑focused team, you will partner with senior project leaders, researchers, and Faculty stakeholders to support effective financial planning, budget management, and compliance. Through sound financial analysis and professional guidance, this role directly contributes to the Faculty’s operational and research outcomes in a complex and evolving environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with project leaders and researchers to provide practical financial advice that supports informed decision‑making, grant utilisation, and compliant cost management

  • Deliver project‑based financial accounting services, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure monitoring, variance analysis, and reporting

  • Support financial planning processes aligned to Faculty and University objectives, contributing to forward‑looking budgeting and resource management

  • Apply financial governance, compliance frameworks, and risk management principles across research and operational project

  • Interpret and communicate grant and funding rules to support compliant financial management by client business units

  • Prepare and present accurate financial insights, reports, and analysis to stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner

  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted and responsive financial advisor

  • Identify and escalate complex issues or risks to senior Finance Partners or specialist services as required.

About You

You are a finance professional who enjoys working in a service‑oriented, advisory role and building trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You bring a strong foundation in financial accounting and analysis, along with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical advice.

You will have:

  • Degree qualifications in accounting, business, commerce, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience

  • Strong financial accounting, analysis, and reporting skills, with experience delivering project‑based accounting services

  • Experience working in professional financial advisory or service delivery functions within complex stakeholder and policy environments

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Well‑developed problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes

  • Ability to provide strategically aligned operational financial advice tailored to client needs

  • Progress towards, or membership of, a professional accounting body (CPA, CA, or equivalent)
