BXTI - Engineering –  VP MDM APAC

Job Description:

As a Vice President (VP) in Master Data Management Platform, you will be a key leader responsible for driving the strategy, development, and delivery of the MDM platform that support Blackstone's finance platforms. You will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive innovation, foster a culture of excellence, and contribute to the long-term growth and success of Blackstone. As a senior team leader, you will be responsible for guiding and implementing key technical solutions across the Data Solutions sub-tower, as well as mentoring more junior engineers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic vision and leadership for the MDM team, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.

  • Technology Strategy: Define and execute the technology roadmap for client-facing and firmwide platforms, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior executives, business stakeholders, and technology partners to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful project delivery.

  • Solution Architecture: Provide technical guidance and oversight in the design and architecture of software applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Project Execution: Drive the successful execution of technology projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and technology partners to evaluate and select solutions, manage relationships, and drive value for Blackstone.

  • Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and provide thought leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong command of NextJS or React, FastAPI, Python, C#, and relevant technologies.

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data pipelines and related technologies.

  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring teams of software engineers and technical professionals.

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.

  • Deep understanding of software development principles, architecture, and best practices.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives and business stakeholders.

  • Track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate through ambiguity and drive results.

  • Experience in the financial services industry or related field is preferred.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
