At Depot, we are on a mission to redefine software collaboration and accelerate developers everywhere. We are creating a build performance and developer platform unlike any other, combining performance, empathy, and centralized collaboration to enable companies to iterate exponentially faster.
We are embarking on the next phase of Depot, which aims to redefine the software development process. Everyone at Depot is inspired by the opportunity to help developers ship and collaborate faster than ever before. We are all builders and care deeply about the quality of our work.
We believe that by focusing on performance, empathy, and quality, we are creating a gravitational pull towards Depot, both the team and the product. This is the foundation on which all other things are built.
Depot is a fast-growing developer infrastructure company and a lot of the operational and financial connective tissue of the business currently runs through the CEO. That needs to change. We're looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to own the operational backbone of Depot — keeping finances clean, vendors managed, and the business running smoothly so our founders and team can stay focused on building.
This is a high-ownership role with direct access to leadership and a clean slate to build the ops function the right way from early days. If you're the kind of person who builds systems so things don't get missed rather than waiting to be told what to do, we'd like to hear from you.
About the job
- Month-end close coordination — reconciliations, invoices, reporting, and making sure everything is accurate and on time
- Accounts receivable: tracking outstanding invoices, chasing what's owed, keeping cash flow clean
- Vendor management: procurement of new vendors, contract reviews, renewals, insurance policies, and tracking costs across the business
- Finance ops: expense management, reimbursements, and company card oversight
- Operational compliance: keeping us on top of federal, state, and international regulatory requirements as the business grows
- Build dashboards and reports that give leadership a clear, current view of the business
- Ad hoc operational projects — whatever comes up at a 20-person startup that's moving fast
About you
- You have 3–6 years in business operations, finance operations, or a similar role — ideally at a startup
- You've owned a month-end close process before and understand accrual vs. cash basis accounting
- You're organized to a fault — you build systems and processes so things don't fall through the cracks
- You're comfortable working with external partners like bookkeepers, legal counsel, and insurance brokers, and you know when to escalate
- You have experience with tools like Stripe, HubSpot, and standard finance and expense platforms
- Low ego, high ownership — you do what needs to be done without waiting to be asked
- You've worked in an early-stage startup environment and know what that pace feels like
Benefits
- Remote work with async-friendly culture
- Compensation package with equity available
- Health insurance/benefits
- Unlimited PTO policy
- Free access to Claude Code and Cursor
- Yearly team offsites
- Cool Depot swag
Depot values and culture
We are a fully remote and globally distributed team across the US, Europe, and Canada currently. As a remote startup, there is a collection of things we value and expect from folks:
- We're only going to get more distributed as time goes on. As such, there is always stuff happening across Depot so we value folks who thrive in that type of environment.
- We're not your family and don't pretend to be. We expect you to get things done and work hard to help us meet your goals. But you should spend time with your family and friends, so you should find the balance that accomplishes both.
- We're a small team and aim to accomplish massive things as a lean team. Everyone who works at Depot is a self starter and is deeply passionate about the problems we're solving, and want to solve them well.
- We want you to own it. We firmly believe that ownership is the key to growth and part of that growth is making the choices, and owning the success, failure, and lessons learned that comes with those choices.
- We value data. We make decisions based on what the data tells us and what customers need from us. Folks thrive at Depot by being data driven in their decision making.
