Business Banking consists of four lines of business: Commercial Banking, Small Business Banking, TDAF Auto Finance and Merchant Solutions.
Job Description:
The Finance Manager, Business Banking reports to the Senior Group Manager Business Banking and works with a talented and diverse team of professionals to provide insightful analysis and advice, management reporting and recommendations for all lines of business within Business Banking. The role requires a skillset that can manage key reporting, forecasting, and planning processes while also focusing on details in a time sensitive environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Subject matter expertise and ownership of the consolidated financial reporting and forecasting/planning processes encompassing the entire P&L to provide value-add monthly/quarterly reporting, forecasting & planning, and ad-hoc analysis to both Business Banking and Finance leadership teams.
Working with other leaders in Business Banking and across Finance to innovate, explore and develop new tools, capabilities and functionality to identify efficiencies and enhance the effectiveness in financial and business performance reporting
Provide thought leadership and decision-making support to business partners on key projects and initiatives, ensuring the appropriate financial and accounting considerations are represented.
Develop and maintain deep relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders across Business Banking, CAD Retail Finance and FinOps, TBSM, and Risk Management
Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify potential P&L opportunities and risks, and offer well supported recommendations and challenge to the business.
Maintain industry, external and internal business awareness, recognizing and anticipating trends, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending actions
Promoting a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, innovation, creativity, analysis, and advice.
Job Requirements:
Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities – ability to synthesize a large amount of information into clear, concise analysis and recommendations
Strong communication skills tailored to a senior executive audience
Ability to re-design and streamline processes to ensure control and accuracy, while operating with efficiency
Highly motivated with an ability to manage competing priorities
Organizational awareness – knowing how to engage the organization to get things done
Business acumen – understanding the business from the ground up and the key levers that will deliver superior results
CPA/CA/CFA designation would be an asse
