The Position

The Finance Manager (FM) reports directly into the Area Heads/General Manager while still working part of the Finance Community within the region. You will be a key leader in the affiliate transformation, and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial results, as well as the functions of procurement, supply chain, and facility services. Your leadership will be pivotal in translating strategic vision into operational and financial excellence.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial results of the affiliate, ensuring adherence to Roche Group Accounting (FGA), local accounting standards, tax, and customs.

  • Proactively identify key challenges and opportunities and assess their impact, while stimulating an environment that encourages smart experimentation and rapid iterations.

  • Drive a simple and fit-for-purpose business planning process that captures key strategic directions and formulates a local finance strategy balancing global/regional requirements with local imperatives.

  • In collaboration with business leaders, define the strategic direction of the organization and contribute to long-term portfolio planning and resourcing strategy.

  • Risk & Value Management: Navigate volatile macroeconomic environments to maintain P&L sustainability, mitigate financial risks, and identify emerging growth opportunities.

  • Connects affiliate priorities with the regional and global   ambition to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide priorities.

  • Engage with business partners in crafting and executing value-enhancing decisions through business performance analysis (actuals vs. forecast) and generating meaningful market insights.

  • Oversee the affiliate procurement process, focusing on value delivery for Roche while balancing costs, service quality, compliance, and strategic partnerships.

  • Actively contributing beyond the affiliate and within the regional Finance Network. This includes  Leading  or contributing to  regional and global  work packages. 

  • Embody VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, and Catalyst) leadership principles, shaping and implementing the new ways of working for the team and championing a culture that is inclusive and embraces diversity.

Who You Are

  • You have a minimum of 7 years of finance experience and (preferably) holds a professional Accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, CIMA) or a University Degree/MBA.

  • You are an experienced and highly creative leader with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and networked teams, with a proven track record of sound fiscal planning and management and ensuring financial governance.

  • You possess outstanding business acumen and strategic agility, with a global strategic approach and the ability to contribute to the global Finance Community.

  • You are an effective leader and coach with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, highly adept at identifying solutions and skilled at influencing and enabling decisions without formal authority. You would have a true interest in people development and bring in the VACC Leadership concept. 

  • You demonstrate the Roche Values of Integrity, Courage & Passion and have a proven ability to effectively lead and enable change and build strong, sustainable relationships with internal and external partners.
