RBC

Finance Manager

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada Full time

Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

In this role, you become a true strategic partner to both Investor Services (IS) and WM Global Operations (WMGO), shaping how these businesses plan, invest, and perform. You’ll join a team that is deeply embedded in the business—translating data into clarity, guiding leaders through key decisions, and driving an owner-operator mindset across a global platform.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than reporting: it’s a chance to influence the financial direction of complex, growth-oriented businesses. You’ll lead analytical insights, strengthen financial transparency, and enhance decision-making at all levels. If you’re energized by building better models, better processes, and better conversations around performance—while working with leaders who value thoughtful challenge—this role offers both impact and career acceleration.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Deliver financial advisory support to IS and WMGO, including analytics, reporting, and performance insight to drive business planning and forecasting.
  • Lead month-end analysis and benchmarking, providing clear expense variance commentary to finance and business partners.
  • Develop and enhance financial models that support strategic forecasts, the 5-Year Outlook, annual planning, and regulatory stress testing.
  • Own accurate and transparent monthly NIE reporting for IS and WMGO consolidated results, including relevant operating metrics.
  • Perform trend analysis to identify opportunities and support leadership in achieving financial targets and optimizing investment decisions.
  • Partner with IS and WMGO teams to strengthen financial discipline, accountability, and transparent decision-making.
  • Work with Financial Controls to ensure strong governance over monthly close, P&L analytics, balance sheet review, and financial disclosures.
  • Continuously improve processes—standardizing, automating, and freeing capacity for deeper insight generation.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong financial modelling capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management abilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and create well-supported insights.
  • Understanding of the financial services and/or technology environment, with the ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working within a matrixed, large-scale corporate environment.
  • Ability to influence and facilitate decision-making among senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking capability and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions.
  • Familiarity with investment, product, or operations-linked financial performance management.

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • A world-class training program in financial services
  • Flexible work/life balance options
  • Opportunities to do challenging work
