Qualified CA
Post articles experience managing a finance team (8+ years)
Post articles experience in accounting and/or financial analysis (min 5 years)
Experience working in a real estate or investment environment (3+ years)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with excellent planning skills and
problem-solving skills
Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners
Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills
Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Responsible for assisting the COO in delivering on the Financial Strategy
Managing the financial accounting for OMREHC which includes but not limited to:
23 entities that need to be consolidated
Various sub-consolidations
Annual financial statements
Tax returns (provisional and final) for all South African entities and foreign entities registered in South Africa for tax purposes
Quarterly submissions on HFM
Assist with compiling and managing OMREHC’s management accounts - continuous monitoring of the annual budget and ensure that revenue targets are met
Carries overall responsibility for the preparation and quality of financial accounts and maintenance of financial records.
Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for internal and external colleagues
Communicate and engage and represent OMP with the various segments within Old Mutual
Assists in deciding on the financial and business viability of new and existing projects and programmes.
Analyses financial records such as income trends.
Plans and prepares budgets and documents such as the annual report, according to organisational goals.
Analyses and monitors the effect of budget or policy changes on business unit productivity.
Responsible for audit liaison as well as tax, legislative & statutory requirements.
Ensures compliance with accounting standards, specifically IFRS, at a group level.
Provides technical assistance to business units and liaises with key stakeholders.
