Dealership Accounting Specialist (Bodyshop Specialist I)
The Bodyshop Specialist I is the key link between the Bodyshop and Dealership Accounting. This position is position that focuses on body shop and body shop accounting functions that support the operations of the Body Shop. In most cases the Specialist will sit within the Body Shop. Accounting related tasks are very minimal, in many cases the individual may not post to the general ledger. The role is most common in a centralized accounting structure. Successful individuals will build strong relationships with department leads and quickly gain business and automotive acumen. Exceptional performers would be positioned for a role as a Body Shop Specialist II.
Responsibilities
- Receive payments made by cash, checks, credit card receipts, EFTs and issue payment receipts
- Process Daily Deposit Workbook for the Body Shop and reconcile to Body Shop management software
- Assists Body Shop Manager and Estimators on the collection of outstanding Body Shop Accounts Receivables
- Prepare and audit Repair Orders to be closed and posted
- Close all Repair Orders
- May assist Body Shop Manager with Technician Payroll and Work in Process Balancing
- May assist with parts and sublet data entry into management software
- Document Verification per Audit and Insurance Requirements
- Call on Insurance Assignments to schedule appointments for estimates/repairs
- Issue Purchase Orders for parts, sublets, and supply orders
- Scan File Contents into Body Shop management software
- Greet Customers
- Operational Controls
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Dealership experience, a plus
- Bookkeeping/Accounting, a plus
- General understanding of Basic Accounting - familiar with COA, debits and credits, a plus
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive customer service attitude
- Sense of urgency
