The Role

To assist the Principal Officer- Corporation in meeting objectives concerning statutory financial accounting and reporting; management and security of the Corporation’s assets; supervision of the maintenance of Corporation accounting ledgers; and improving operational efficiencies within the Indian operation.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage all accounting operations.

  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.

  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.

  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reports.

  • Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.

  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

  • Manage and comply with IFSCA and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

  • Liaise with auditors for timely completion of audits with no signification audit observation

  • Perform additional controller duties as necessary.

Skills

  • Planning and prioritisation skills, and is able to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously

  • Communication skills and confidence to drive new ideas and seek to improve work practice

Knowledge

  •  Knowledge of statutory reporting under Applicable Accounting Standards

  •  Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, in particular, Microsoft Excel

  •  Knowledge of Sun Accounting System or any recognised accounting software package
