Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team in Derby, The Role is accountable for the FA&R & AP operations and accounting activities managed by UK based team. Role will drive a culture of growth, data driven performance management and improvement, with a relentless focus on service delivery.
The manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations liaising with India FA&R & AP team (covering Period End, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and AP activities) and will be accountable for meeting the team SLAs and KPIs. The role is responsible for ensuring that the FA&R & AP team members are engaged, supported, and developed.
What you will be doing:
Performance Management and CI
- Drives team and process performance through data driven insights
- Liaise with GPO to ensure that Finance Operations processes (P2P, R2R) are align to global GBS standards
- Ensure that FA&R & AP processes are align to global GBS standards
- Ensures that process documentation, Process flow are updated on regular basis
- Drive automation and promote process optimization
Stakeholder Management
- Provide clear, concise, and regular updates to all identified stakeholders, both internal and external, and leadership. Drives tactical governance.
- Coordinate efforts across different departments to address inter-departmental issues and collaborate to deliver the best service experience.
Escalation Management
- Monitor team performance in handling escalations and provide coaching to improve proficiency.
- Take Lead in resolving the issues and bring in controls to avoid the occurrence of the issue. Resolve the underlying causes of escalations and prevent recurrence.
- Timely reporting of issues to relevant stakeholders
Risk, Compliance & Controls
- Responsible that controls are operated as designed and procedure are regularly reviewed.
- Ensure robust governance in place for internal controls over financial reporting
- Liese with Senior external stakeholders to ensure prompt closure of Audit findings.
Operational Delivery:
- Review periodical results, trends, or variances and share insights with stakeholders
- Accountable for timely closure of Period End Reporting in line with IFRS, and UK GAAP.
- Oversee and provide support also to a team responsible for executing Period End Activities, AP activities as well as handling Cash Management all largely supporting Defence inclusive of Submarines operations.
- Responsible for the deliverables of Tactical SLA over FA&R & AP function.
Team Management:
- Mentor and provide Guidance to peers and other team members
- Provide timely and adequate feedback to team members about their performance
- Knowledge Sharing: Share learnings and insights across departments
- Ensure adequate successful planning is in place across the team
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting or equivalent
- Qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA) or equivalent
- Experience in resource planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in GBS
- Expert knowledge of end-to-end of the Record To Report processes and related accounting
- Experience in resource planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Desirable experience managing an FA&R and/or AP team and driving performance against KPIs / SLAs
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate people.
- Stakeholder management experience at operational level.
- Experience with MSOffice and ERP system: SAP is a must
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, UK GAAP)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or any other equivalent training - desirable but not essential
- Experience in Team Management
- Experience in handling sensitive information with confidentiality, particularly related to Submarines
