The role

Reporting to the Director Finance & Operations located in NL, the Finance Managers primary responsibility is to manage and coach the finance team (4-5 persons) in executing all tasks related to financial operations and administration. In addition the Finance manager oversees financial activities, ensures the accuracy of financial reports, and provides essential financial information to support strategic decision-making.

The EMEA Finance department operates in close cooperation with the Global Corporate Controller and the CFO at our CST Headquarters in the US. The Finance Manager is part of the Management team and herewith contributes to overall leadership in the EMEA organization.

To perform the Finance Manager role in a good and effective manner it is the preference to work in the NL office 2-3 days per week.

You'll have the opportunity to...

Financial Reporting & Consolidation (25–30%)

  • Setting up, managing, and analyzing internal financial administration
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Preparing monthly consolidation packages for the US parent company

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Analysis (15–20%)

  • Coordinating the annual budgeting process
  • Managing rolling forecasts
  • Performing variance analysis and explaining deviations

Audit & Statutory Compliance (10–15%)

  • Preparing Dutch GAAP statutory financial statements
  • Managing the annual Dutch GAAP audit
  • Managing the US GAAP audit
  • Acting as primary contact with external auditors

Internal Controls & Policies (10–12%)

  • Developing and implementing internal control procedures
  • Maintaining financial policies and risk management practices

Tax & Regulatory Compliance (10–12%)

  • Overseeing CIT and VAT filings
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP, laws, and regulations
  • Coordinating transfer pricing with US parent
  • Managing tax compliance for EU branches (NL, DE, UK)

Leadership & Management Advisory (8–10%)

  • Translating financial results into business insights
  • Advising the EMEA leadership teams
  • Supporting strategic financial decision-making

Payroll, AP/AR & Operational Finance Oversight (8–10%)

  • Overseeing payroll processing
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Coordinating with operational finance staff

Ideally, you have...

  • Bachelor’s in accounting and finance or similar
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in an international environment
  • Experienced in working with accounting systems (Oracle) and FP&A tools (Prophix)
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experienced in generating financial and management reports
  • Proven experience in coaching a team of professionals
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English in word and writing
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Dutch GAAP and US GAAP knowledge
  • Preferred Prior Life Science experience
