Finance Manager, CMO

Role Summary

The Finance Manager – CMO is responsible for supporting financial planning, reporting, and control activities for the Chief Marketing Office (CMO). The role partners closely with business leaders to ensure financial compliance and deliver financial information that enables achievement of financial and operational objectives.

The finance manager oversees core finance processes including budgeting, forecasting, close, and expense management; and ensures accurate reporting and compliance with internal controls and policies.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare information and submit financials for annual budget and forecast

  • Develop variance analyses versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, and clearly communicate risks and opportunities

  • Develop financial models to support business decisions

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Coordinate month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, including accruals and journal entries related to CMO spend

  • Prepare, review, and deliver management reporting packages and financial dashboards for CMO leadership

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results in line with corporate timelines and requirements

Expense & Cost Management

  • Manage operating expense (OPEX) tracking, reviews, and controls

  • Partner with business leaders to drive cost discipline, productivity initiatives, and identification of cost efficiencies

Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to CMO leadership teams, providing financial counsel on strategic and tactical matters

  • Support strategic projects by delivering financial insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations.

Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and Pfizer policies and procedures

  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and support audit activities as required

  • Identify initiatives to improve finance processes, including standardization, automation, and enhanced use of digital tools and reporting capabilities

Basic Qualifications

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of SAP and fluency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Experience should include budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis for a global organization

  • Knowledge of accounting and prior experience in monthly financial close activities

  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to business leaders and successful experience operating in highly matrixed organizations

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and amid ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Pfizer finance policies and internal processes

  • Experience with Oracle/Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) applications and SAP Business Intelligence (SAP BI)

  • Continuous improvement mindset. Ability to leverage AI‑enabled tools and automation to drive process simplification

  • Relevant professional skills including problem solving, project planning and delivery, attention to detail, time management, critical thinking

  • Strong analytical skills with capacity to provide clear, concise, and insightful analyses

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,200.00 to $165,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
