About This Opportunity
We are currently hiring a Finance Intern for a summer term position, from May to August 2026 (4months), at our Hitachi Rail Canada office. As a member of a collaborative team, the individual in this role will be an integral member of the Finance team within the Hitachi Rail SRS business line. The intern will be involved in many aspects of the fiscal lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
Working with Bids and Project finance team as well as financial reporting analyst to:
Monitor, collect, analyze, disseminate & report on Financial information,
Create new databases / reports
Be involved in transformation initiatives and preparation of information to support new group reporting
Work on services reporting and potential harmonization / consolidation with US and Canada business
Support for annual budget preparation of cost centers and projects
Bid costing support and/or internal project reporting
Support for government funding opportunities, applications, and reporting
Key Requirements
The successful candidate should be working towards a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Completion of the second or third year of your undergraduate degree, or currently pursuing a master’s degree.
Business financial analytics, experience working with financial reporting tools
Strong experience working with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
Energetic and motivated to learn and grow
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail
Desire to work in a company with a team-based approach and culture of excellence
The ability to work 40 hours a week in a hybrid environment for the duration of the internship is essential. At least 2 days a week in the office.
Preferred Qualifications
Co-op student available for a 4-month term, with at least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the completion of the internship.
Previous co-op/internship experience is a plus.
