Finance Intern

Mississauga, Ontario - Canada Full time

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing support in preparation of management reports, forecasts, sales analysis, budgets, variance analysis.

  • Conducting detailed variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis that describes actual versus planned expenses and PowerPoint presentations accompanied by in-depth explanation to support upper management during presidential reviews.

  • Assist in preparation and analysis of reports for management (monthly financial package & ad hoc).

  • Facilitate monthly and yearly closes through preparation and posting of necessary accruals, adhering to applicable IFRS accounting principles.

  • Assist in the financial forecasting process (updating and maintaining forecasting files, uploading forecasts).

  • Organize and prepare detailed annual budget proposals for G&A and FMI expenses.

  • Create detailed monthly and annual variance walks.

  • Support A/P by payment tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor relations for all operations in Canada.

  • Expenditures requests – responsible for managing all business unit expenditure requests and obtaining the proper approvals based on a delegation of authority, for reviewing budgets for sufficient project funds and conduct financial analyses such as ROI of project expenses.

  • Work on special projects as assigned

Years of Experience

Must be enrolled in a co-op program.

Education

Must be an undergraduate student at a university or college.

Specific Course/Certifications

Must be enrolled in a co-op program.
