Your New Role…
The Finance Director of Local Production Finance plays a critical role in overseeing the financial planning, analysis, and control of local Spanish film productions. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, strategic forecasting, and compliance with local regulations, subsidies, and tax incentives. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments (Legal, COE FP&A, Participations, Motion Picture Production & Theatrical Finance, etc.) and external stakeholders (producers, sales agents, legal advisors, government bodies) to support the financial success and operational efficiency of local productions.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Act as the finance key contact for the Local Production Business Unit and Regional Office.
Provide monthly cash planning inputs to COE and review cash reporting.
Review production budgets and finance plans, and prepare and update P&L models across key milestones.
Model Spanish and international P&L scenarios, supporting deal structures and profitability through tax schemes and subsidies.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including COE FP&A, legal teams, and suppliers, on finance-related matters.
Oversee co-production and sales agent statements and external revenue streams.
Manage subsidy applications and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Calculate tax credits and support compliance with local investment obligations.
Review participation statements to ensure alignment with agreements.
Qualifications & Experience…
Extensive experience in production finance, FP&A, or corporate finance within media, entertainment, or film production.
Experience managing complex budgets, advanced financial models, and production cost structures.
In-depth knowledge of local tax incentives, subsidies, and regulatory frameworks.
Experience with production budgeting systems (e.g. Movie Magic) is desirable.
Fluency in Spanish and English.
