<title>About the role</title>

<text>

We're looking for a Finance Director to serve as the senior financial voice across our Hungary and Austria operations — someone who works directly with both the Managing Directors and ownership, and carries the seniority and credibility to operate comfortably at both levels.

You'll sit at the intersection of strategy and control, bringing structure where it's missing, challenge where it's needed, and clarity always. This is a role that demands as much range as it does depth.

This role is based in Hungary or Austria and reports directly to ownership level.

<title>Main tasks and responsibilities:</title>

<bulletpoints>

  • <point>Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the Managing Directors of Hungary and Austria, providing financial insight that drives confident, well-grounded decisions.</point>
  • <point>Keep a sharp eye across both markets — catching discrepancies, questionable assumptions, and early warning signs before they become problems.</point>
  • <point>Maintain and improve financial controls, governance frameworks, and internal reporting standards in close collaboration with the local finance teams.</point>
  • <point>Ensure full statutory compliance across both markets, including tax reporting, audit, and regulatory filings in line with Hungarian and Austrian legislation.</point>
  • <point>Identify opportunities to improve financial performance — whether through cost efficiency, margin improvement, or smarter capital deployment — and turn them into actionable proposals.</point>
  • <point>Continuously raise the bar on how the business thinks about and manages its finances — bringing fresh methodologies, sharper frameworks, and better ways of working whenever the current approach can be improved.</point>
  • <point>Serve as the bridge between managing directors and owners — keeping both sides aligned, informed, and moving in the same direction.</point>
  • <point>Evaluate new business opportunities and market expansions, translating complexity into clear financial recommendations.</point>

<title>About you:</title>

<bulletpoints>

  • <point>8+ years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in financial strategy, business controlling, or advisory — ideally across multi-market or complex operational environments.</point>
  • <point>A sharp analytical mind paired with real business instinct — you spot what matters in a set of numbers and you know what to do about it.</point>
  • <point>Experience working closely with senior leadership and ownership, with the credibility and communication skills to influence decisions at that level.</point>
  • <point>You've seen every corner of corporate finance — accounting, tax, controlling, strategy — and you know how to hold it all together into something coherent. Nothing about how a business works financially is foreign to you.</point>
  • <point>Solid knowledge of Hungarian and Austrian financial regulations, tax frameworks, and statutory requirements.</point>
  • <point>A natural bias towards improvement — you're always asking whether something can be done better, more accurately, or more efficiently.</point>
  • <point>Fluent in English; Hungarian or German is a strong advantage.</point>
