The Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance Manager (CFM) with the timely reporting of necessary information to Business Heads, ensuring quality and accuracy is always maintained.
This role will have a special focus on providing analytical support as well as improving the level of budgeting and planning within the Sales Teams. The Finance Analyst will also have a joint responsibility with their Sales counterparts in ensuring the accuracy and robustness of month end results.
Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-
Month end accuracy on all aspects of Indirect Business and improve process and reporting efficiency
Aid the Sales Team at month end, to ensure that they are clear about expectations and being jointly accountable for delivering an accurate close
Identify key areas of variance between Actuals and Forecast and their impact to achievement of the monthly plan
Assist with the annual audit requirements
Participate and prepare the annual budget and rolling estimates, ensuring that all functional inputs are captured and included in the cash up
Analyse and interpret monthly trading results and assist in highlighting key issues versus the plan/rolling estimates
Evolve a performance report which demonstrates the performance across all key drivers for every customer. Ensure a monthly publish of the report and lead the discussion
Support the Cash Flow forecasting process – update the cash forecast basis understanding of customer payment trends
Monitor receivables with emphasis on overdue ageing. Liaise with stakeholders (sales, supply chain, shared service) on highlighting overdue with the root cause on the same
Monitor the relevant contract compliances across all key customers
Business Partner to the commercial management of the New Zealand market
Maintenance of all customer master data for ANZ business
To be successful in this role you will have the highest level of integrity, honesty, excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You are able to quickly identify deviations from expected outcomes and have a voice to flag deviations.
Previous skills & experience:-
Solid experience with an understanding of accounting
Understanding of claims processing, including validation, documentation, reconciliation, and resolution.
Understanding of Retail industry is desirable
Degree in accounting
Experienced in reporting and communication of financial information to stakeholders
Good organisational skills
Good Information systems (knowledge of SQL is a plus, not mandatory)
Strong functional command over MS-Excel
