Job Title: Finance Administrator (12 month FTC)

 

A little bit about our team:

The Warner Chappell Music (WCM) UK finance team is comprised of five people who collectively report in to the SVP, Operations and Finance, all based in the London office – Kensington Court. We are responsible for the financial reporting for the UK music publishing business; partnering closely with other WCM UK departments including A&R, Sync, Legal & Business Affairs, Royalties, Copyright, the People team and Facilities, as well as our colleagues in the London Shared Service Centre (SSC). 

Your role:

This position will assist the finance team across all financial and accounting functions for  the WCM UK office. You will partner with other finance and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting. You will demonstrate our core values of Curiosity, Collaboration and Commitment in your day-to-day work. 

This position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.

 

Here you’ll get to:

Day-to-day duties

  • Collaborate closely with the SSC team to diligently input invoices and oversee the timely processing of payments, ensuring smooth financial transactions.

  • Be responsible for revenue being accurately allocated to the correct reporting codes in SAP, promoting financial accuracy and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to populate accurate cashflow forecasts, aiding in strategic financial planning.

  • Liaise effectively with the Tax department to uphold updated tax documentation, ensuring compliance and accuracy.


 

Monthly duties

  • Prepare month-end journals with careful attention to detail, allocating costs among reporting entities

  • Complete comprehensive intercompany reconciliations, obtaining confirmations from affiliate offices to validate transactions and balances

  • Maintain current and comprehensive management reports, covering various aspects such as sync revenue, advance spend, production music income tracker, and T&E tracker.

  • Prepare various tax compliance reports and filings, including VAT returns and Withholding Tax returns. 

Other duties

  • Be an ambassador for the global SAP rollout, acting as a conduit between the business unit and the SSC to triage queries and issues

  • Contribute to the preparation of financials for roster meetings, ensuring clarity and precision in reporting.

  • Ad-hoc project work as and when required

  • Provide support for audits and regulatory compliance 

  

About you:

  • A genuine passion for music coupled with a keen interest in exploring the intricacies of the music publishing industry. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Exceptional organizational abilities, characterized by meticulous attention to detail.

  • Outstanding communication skills, adept at fostering strong and productive working relationships.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with confidence in utilizing intermediate formulas like VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and IFERROR (experience is advantageous but not essential). 

  • A collaborative team player, willing to contribute across all tasks with a positive attitude and no task deemed too insignificant.
