As a Field Technician II, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and performing maintenance and repair tasks. This position requires collaboration with various departments to support operational needs and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Here’s what you will do:

  • Understand and adhere to all safety procedures and code requirements.
  • Consistently work in a safe, responsible manner and actively participate in safety-related programs.
  • Perform work in compliance with company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies.
  • Actively participate as a work group team member and maintain a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.
  • Complete paperwork and reports related to equipment maintenance accurately and completely.
  • Respond to equipment malfunction, physical damage and/or fire, vandalism and/or threats to properly handle emergency situations to safeguard life and property.  Must be familiar with the application of relevant procedures. 
  • Implement all lock out/tag out procedures as they apply to the job functions to ensure personnel safety. 
  • Obtain training as required to maintain qualifications. 
  • Utilize proper procedures for ordering, receiving and transferring materials as well as performing physical inventory. 
  • Review and interpret drawings, sketches and as-builts. 

Who you are:

You have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of directly applied experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of operations used in maintenance and repair of pipelines and operational equipment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Proven ability to drive and perform job duties safely.

  • Assist in planning work and contributing budget related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process. 
  • Work with Area and Region personnel in making recommendations as to levels of spare parts for equipment needed to perform normal maintenance and minimize down time. 
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel and Word.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily field-oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings, and documentation of required tasks dictated by the Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions. 
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required. 
  • Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location. 

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 75 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
