The Field Specialist (DSC) plays a key role in monitoring applications, conducting testing, maintaining equipment, and supporting product and inventory management activities in alignment with Baker Hughes Core Values.

Fueling Your Passion

As a Field Specialist (DSC) you will be based out of a customer location in the Port Arthur, TX area and will support field operations by monitoring operating parameters, conducting field and product tests, maintaining equipment, and managing product inventory activities. You will build foundational technical and business knowledge while completing structured development through the LEAD – Field Specialist Development Program, preparing you to safely and effectively support product lines and customer applications.

As a Field Specialist (DSC), you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring application operating parameters to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant field operations.
  • Conducting field and product tests, recording results, and communicating findings to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Performing equipment maintenance as directed to support reliability and operational continuity.
  • Completing product inventory management activities, including inventory reporting, ordering, and supporting deliveries.
  • Building general knowledge of basic industrial processes, business principles, and DSC product applications.
  • Successfully completing required training through participation in the LEAD – Field Specialist Development Program, including in‑depth training focused on HSE, compliance, oilfield fundamentals, and basic product line products and services.
  • Conducting all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements, and Baker Hughes Core Values.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a two‑year Technical College degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Have a High School diploma or a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.(Preferred)
  • Have foundational knowledge of chemistry, materials, process flows, and petroleum engineering concepts (preferred).
  • Have a general understanding of basic industrial processes and business principles.
  • Have strong critical‑thinking skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Have the ability to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to varying weather conditions, heights, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

This role is field‑based and supports operational activities at customer or industrial sites. Work schedules and conditions may vary based on operational needs.

Shift: Monday - Friday 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM 100% onsite in Port Arthur, TX.
