We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our Service Group. This position plays a critical role as the front-line ambassador to our customers, providing technical support, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and training in a wide range of environments. If you enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, and traveling, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and manage service-related calls from customers.

  • Build accurate parts lists for internal and external customers.

  • Provide troubleshooting support via phone and email.

  • Travel to customer sites (up to 90%) for:

    • Maintenance

    • Repairs

    • Troubleshooting and diagnostics

    • New equipment installation and commissioning

    • Customer training

  • Prepare clear and accurate service reports.

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the company.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of company-supported equipment (training provided).

  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.

  • Ability to travel extensively, including occasional weekends.

  • Willingness to work long days (up to 16 hours when required).

  • Solid knowledge of hand tools, mechanical techniques, and power tools.

  • Proficient with computers and basic technical writing.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Strong organizational skills, especially while working onsite.

  • Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical customers.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to regulated chemicals, fumes, odors, and airborne particles.

  • Moderate to heavy noise levels depending on the job site.

  • Work performed in congested areas with simultaneous activities occurring nearby.

  • Frequent work in damp or wet environments.

  • Some assignments take place in refrigerated facilities or outdoors.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Physical Demands

  • Regular communication with customers and field personnel.

  • Frequent walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods.

  • Use of hands for computer, phone, and tool operation.

  • Occasional lifting and moving of equipment weighing 75+ pounds.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Based on the above-mentioned requirements, candidates for the Field Service Technician position have demonstrated abilities in the following areas:

Profound experience in either of the following trades:

  • Mechanical

  • Electrical AC & DC

  • Millwright

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $26 - $40 per hour.  GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.


The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.  You may be eligible for additional rewards.
