As a Field Service Engineer, you will support customers through on‑site installation, implementation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Spectroscopy systems.
You will work across a variety of laboratory environments, applying strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and a customer‑first mindset.
You will support integrated solutions, including hardware, software, operating systems, and networking components, while continuously developing technical depth across Agilent’s Spectroscopy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and optimize Agilent Spectroscopy hardware, software, and networked systems at customer sites
Diagnose and resolve product performance and availability issues at the system and solution level
Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and system optimizations
Proactively identify potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned downtime
Advise customers on preventive maintenance schedules and configuration best practices
Deliver fully integrated solutions, including peripherals, operating systems, and application software
Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and high‑quality service delivery
Train customers and, as needed, other field engineers on Agilent Spectroscopy solutions
Job Requirement: Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to: post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent university‑level degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
4+ years of hands‑on experience working with analytical instrumentation, including maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting Agilent Spectroscopy systems.
Highly preferred: hands‑on experience with ICP‑OES, ICP‑MS, and/or UV‑Vis spectroscopy.
Strong problem‑solving skills with a systems‑focused approach.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Ability to travel 50% or more, based on the territory at the time.
Valid driver’s license required.

In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $43.12 - $67.37/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
