Field Service Engineer

In the role of The Field Service Engineer, you will ensure that Ketjen catalysts are satisfactorily put in use at the customer by supervising catalyst loading and unit start-ups. Additionally, you will support Ketjen’s Technical Service teams with preparation work for modeling/simulation of the customer process.

The vacancy is for our office located in Mumbai, India.

           

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites (primarily in India and Middle East) and ensure that Ketjen catalysts are satisfactory put in use
  • Supervise catalyst loading and ensure that Ketjen’s best practices are applied by catalyst loading companies
  • Actively participate in reactor start-ups on customer locations and prepare required documentation before and after the start ups
  • Support our technical experts worldwide in their day-to-day activities, such as unit monitoring
  • Contribute actively to the growth of CFT catalyst business.

Skills, Education and Job Requirements

  • MSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Preferably some petroleum refining experience, with basic knowledge on hydroprocessing fundamentals. Experience with catalyst loading supervision, hydrocracking or hydrotreating start-ups, is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken and good reporting skills, necessary for the preparation of the catalyst loading and start-up reports in English
  • Good interpersonal communication and collaboration skills and team focus through an active contribution to a joint result
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive
  • Ability to learn and take responsibility of own learning
  • Can-do mentality, result oriented and disciplined
  • Take initiative for improvements and take ownership
  • An inquiring, flexible and service-minded attitude
  • Willing to travel extensively
  • Willing and capable to work shifts at the refineries during catalyst loading and startup activities
