Baker Hughes wireline services runs both in open hole and cased hole wells. Open Hole services offering formation evaluation, fluid sampling, acoustic & nuclear technology. Cased Hole services focused on well integrity and production optimization after the casing is set.
As the Field Operator will have the following responsibilities:
Equipment Setup and Rig-Up
- Mobilization: Safely transport wireline units, pressure control equipment, and specialized tools to the well site.
- Rigging Up: Assemble the wireline mast, lubricators, and grease injection systems.
- Pressure Control: Connect and test blowout preventers (BOPs) and stuffing boxes to ensure the well remains sealed during operations.
- Tool Assembly: Prepare and test downhole tools, including logging instruments, perforating guns, or mechanical plugs.
Well Intervention and Execution
- Winch Operation: Operate the wireline hydraulic winch system to lower and raise tools at controlled speeds.
- Monitoring: Constantly track cable tension (weight), depth, and line speed to prevent tool loss or cable breakage (fishing jobs).
- Data Acquisition: Assist the engineer in recording geological or mechanical data via electronic logging sensors.
- Perforation: Deploy explosive charges to create holes in the well casing to allow oil or gas to flow.
Maintenance and Technical Support
- Cable Care: Inspect the wireline for "kinks," bird-caging, or wear; perform regular lubrication and "re-heading" (replacing the cable socket).
- Tool Troubleshooting: Perform field repairs on mechanical tools and ensure all sensors are calibrated.
- Post-Job Maintenance: Clean, decontaminate, and inventory all equipment before leaving the site.
Safety and Compliance
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Strictly adhere to wellhead safety protocols to prevent complacency and human error.
- Job Safety Analysis (JSA): Participate in pre-job safety meetings to identify potential hazards like high pressure or heavy lifting.
- Chemical Handling: Safely manage explosives (for perforation) or radioactive sources (for logging) according to strict regulatory guidelines.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Engineer degree from accredited universities/high schools
- Working experience in Wireline Operation
- Familiar with Radiation, Explosive, Winch Control
- Competent on operation Pressure Control Euipment
- Have good communication and team work skill
- Ready to work on challenging environment
- Able to work under pressure
