A.P. Moller - Maersk

Facility Manager

Great Britain, Derby, DE74 2BB Full time

At Maersk we have a vision that’s larger than the ocean: to be a true integrator of container logistics connecting and simplifying our customers’ supply chain through global end-to-end solutions. We count on our people to make it happen.

At Maersk we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job – we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability or religious beliefs. We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high performing teams.

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive, hands‑on Facilities Manager to take ownership of the maintenance, safety and smooth running of Maersk’s largest UK warehouse. This is a fast‑paced, high‑volume logistics environment where your work directly supports operational excellence. You’ll ensure the site, equipment and services are safe, compliant and fully operational — every day.

Working closely with our Central Team, site leadership and a range of contractors, you’ll be the go‑to expert for all things facilities, infrastructure and MHE.

Key Responsibilities

You will focus on the most critical areas of site performance, including:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance of all warehouse facilities, equipment and infrastructure to ensure the site remains safe, secure and fully operational.
  • Respond quickly to facility and equipment issues, including emergencies, and maintain accurate records of all actions taken.
  • Support and deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to maximise uptime and compliance.
  • Manage the MHE fleet, ensuring timely repairs, reducing damage and improving availability.
  • Lead and supervise contractors on site, ensuring all legal, safety and compliance requirements are met.
  • Manage all waste streams, working with contractors to ensure efficient and compliant waste handling.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners to deliver facility‑related projects on time and to standard.
  • Maintain strong documentation and reporting, supporting audits, safety reviews and operational planning.
  • Carry out any additional duties required to support the safe and effective running of the facility.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Conscientious, responsible and committed to high standards
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong results‑driven mindset
  • An excellent communicator with strong written and record‑keeping skills
  • Highly organised with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Confident using computer systems and databases

Experience in a warehouse, logistics or large‑scale industrial environment is highly advantageous.
