Title: Facilities Summer Student

Department: Facilities & Maintenance

Location: 6300 Steeles Ave. W., Woodbridge

Hourly Rate: $19/h

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Facilities Summer Student to add to our team. The successful applicant will require a technical background with experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems, to help ensure normal and continuous operation of our facility.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide building maintenance such as painting, minor repairs, plumbing and scheduled maintenance

  • Deliver goods for the Operations Centre

  • Assist with security services as required

  • Grounds keeping of the property

  • Respond to internal maintenance requests

  • Assist with inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment

  • Assist with preventative and demand maintenance work on equipment and building systems

  • Always be attentive to the appearance of the property and the safety and convenience of building occupants

  • Perform administrative work as required, such as completion of shift reports and maintaining required databases

  • Carry out minor maintenance requirements as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, including the ability to identify hazards and follow established safety policies, procedures, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Currently enrolled in a post secondary education program

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Valid driving license

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Must possess strong organizational skills
