Job Scope: Generally responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Hargrove Engineers & Constructors facilities including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, fire, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, grounds maintenance, security, office space, and logistics. This work will be performed under close supervision
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Building maintenance assistance including routine maintenance of HVAC and other mechanical systems, painting, lighting and electrical systems, carpet cleaning, plumbing, installation of electronics and other office fixtures, installation of appliances, assembly and installation of doors, cubicles and other furnishings.
Contract maintenance assistance including soliciting bids, interviewing and executing contracts for extermination, cleaning services, waste disposal, shredding services and others while ensuring compliance with the terms of the contracts.
Assisting with ordering cleaning supplies and arranging for special cleaning times due to company events.
Relocating furniture and offices, work area set-up including desks, chairs and telephones.
Assisting with telephone system management.
Assisting with Alarm Service and Security management, serving as designated respondent for the alarm company, responsible for alarm maintenance and malfunctions and arranging security service for events.
Assisting with Vending services management including coffee, water and snacks. Responsible for negotiating contracts with vendors, ensuring timely delivery of all products and contacting vendors in the event machine malfunctions.
Assisting with maintenance of fire extinguishers and service contracts including meeting with appropriate personnel for inspections.
Assisting with emergency management including ensuring responsible back-up is available in order to take corrective action if necessary.
Assisting, as needed, with other company functions such as ordering supplies, coordinating rental of tents, tables and chairs. Assists in set-up and breakdown for company events and functions including tables, chairs, icing drinks, arranging cleanup, etc.
Assisting with working with the Safety Leader in arranging security for company functions when necessary.
Assisting with maintaining storage facilities.
Assisting with Hurricane Preparedness Plan – assists in preparation and execution, both before and after a storm.
Assisting with ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards and guidelines.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Advanced coursework is preferred.
Certification: No certification is required for this position.
Experience: This position requires 2+ years of relevant experience in facilities and logistics coordination.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Knowledge of the skills and experience required to perform maintenance functions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent listening, writing and communication skills.
Knowledge of facilities and logistics procedures.
Ability to analyze data and report on findings.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, businesses and vendors.
Ability to listen and ascertain the needs of teammates and leaders.
Ability to ascertain and communicate accurate information on facilities and logistics needs.
Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle. For company insurance purposes must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
