The Opportunity

Do you have a passion for coaching? Do you want to help the best get better? We are hiring a strong performance coach to facilitate our Perform & Sustain program. The selected individual will help operational Claims leaders become more effective through the implementation of routines and best practices. They will teach managers the program concepts and then watch them execute within an operational setting. Our facilitator will then provide coaching and feedback on how the participant/manager demonstrated the desired behaviors.

This candidate also facilitates and delivers training programs to attain learning objectives and meet learners' needs. Facilitates learning on a variety of subjects including complex technical acumen, customer service skills and USAA culture. Supports facilitation of programs that foster employee growth. Facilitated learning can take place in person or via virtual environment.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:       

  • Facilitates learning discussions, learning activities, coaching, and small group interactions.
  • Facilitates and instructs employees in multiple learning environments including classrooms, labs, and virtual capabilities.
  • Develops, trains, and qualifies facilitators through coaching, mentoring, observation, and feedback to ensure effective delivery. Research learner performance problems, determines underlying causes and provides feedback to improve performance.
  • Collaborates with peers, customers, management and Instructional Design and Development on business initiatives, development of curriculum and learning solutions.
  • Maintains business and learning skills/acumen through skills update and professional development.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to develop, implement, assess, and maintain curriculum, recommending and implementing process improvements and revisions as needed
  • Maintains accountability for performance results and learning solution effectiveness.
  • Trains and qualifies facilitators to effectively deliver course objectives while adhering to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • May play role of Producer for virtual courses as a learning opportunity for courses not yet fully qualified to facilitate.
  • May provide support, including coordinating logistics, for other Facilitators.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years facilitator/instructional experience to include business relevant training, teaching, coaching, training design, development, facilitation and/or learning deployment; or progressive operational experience with a concentration on teaching/training/coaching.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, facilitate training, and provide one-on-one coaching.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of learning theories, adult learning principles and instructional design model.
  • Experience with Virtual Technology and ability to deliver training remotely.
  • Applicable licenses as required by LOB/Function.

What sets you apart:

  • 2 years of experience coaching individual contributors within an operational area.
  • Experience providing performance coaching to Claims leaders.
  • Working knowledge of the Perform & Sustain program.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $69,920 - $125,850.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
