Architectural Metals (Metals) is a segment within Apogee that is a provider of aluminum windows, curtainwall (soon to be retired), storefront and entrance systems.  We offer an integrated set of capabilities including design, engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and assembly.

This is a great fit for someone with manufacturing experience who is ready to step into leadership or already leading a small team and wants more ownership on the floor. You will oversee about 20 team members, keep production moving, support safety and quality, and work closely with Warehouse and the 1st shift Extrusion Manager to drive output and efficiency.

You will train on 1st shift for 4 to 6 weeks before transitioning to 3rd shift.

What you will do

  • Lead day to day operations for the Extrusion department on 3rd shift
  • Support safety, quality, and production goals on the floor
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as they come up
  • Partner closely with Warehouse, Assembly, CI, and Safety
  • Monitor schedules and adjust resources to keep production on track
  • Coach and support frontline employees and team leads
  • Work with raw aluminum materials and extrusion equipment

What we are looking for

  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Prior Team Lead or leadership experience in a production environment
  • Comfort around machinery, maintenance, or hydraulics is a big plus
  • Ability to problem solve when the process is not clear and follow work instructions
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and professionalism
  • Basic computer skills. Microsoft Office experience preferred. Training provided on AS400 and Workday
  • High school diploma or GED required. Degree or technical training is a plus

Shift
Typical 3rd shift hours are from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. with overtime as needed.
Currently working 2nd shift schedule of 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. with overtime as needed.
