The US GAAP External Reporting Manager is a crucial member of the Company’s Controllership team. The position will report directly to VP Corporate Accounting and External Reporting. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams including accounting, legal, investor relations, treasury, tax, and financial planning & analysis. This role is responsible for leading and owning the preparation and delivery of external financial statements and other regulatory filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, United States (SEC) prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (US GAAP).The individual will also play an important role in SOX compliance related to external reporting processes and will be a key contact for external audit.
What You’ll do
Consolidated Financial Statements: Lead and own the preparation and delivery of quarterly and annual external financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP standards. This will include preparation of several footnotes such as EPS, share-based compensation, segments, income taxes, derivatives, etc, completion of US GAAP disclosure and SEC checklists and tie-out packages; ensuring internal consistency across various footnotes and sections of the filed document
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate submission of SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and other required regulatory documents
Accounting Standards: Stay current with evolving US GAAP standards and SEC rules and regulations and evaluate the impact of new pronouncements and rules on financial reporting
Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and support SOX compliance efforts
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with investor relations, legal, business units, controllers, and external auditors to gather financial data and resolve accounting issues
Documentation & Analysis: Ensure audit support and trail of all financial and non-financial information included in the SEC filed documents.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process efficiently
Attend quarterly legal entity review calls and identify reporting and accounting issues, if any
Serve as a key point of contact for inquiries related to external reporting matters; including for review of certain legal entity financials
Other ad-hoc matters related to US GAAP and SEC technical accounting and reporting
What We're looking for
Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant or similar equivalent qualification with significant US GAAP experience of 5 to 8 years of public accounting and/or related industry experience, a major portion of which should be technical accounting and reporting focus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the Company. Prior experience with SEC filings and regulatory submissions is preferred.
Familiarity with Workiva, NetSuite, Blackline and OneStream systems or demonstrate to be a keen learner to understand these systems
Ability to proactively research, benchmark and draft disclosures in respect of new transactions
Familiarity working in a public company SOX-compliant environment
A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to get results and support the wider team and business objectives.
Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
