Position Overview

The Exact Sciences Technology Assessment team is seeking a high school intern to support the evaluation of emerging technologies and companies relevant to oncology diagnostics. This role will assist with research, organization, and analysis of information related to external innovations, helping the team track developments across the cancer diagnostics landscape. The intern will gain exposure to how new technologies are identified and assessed to inform potential partnerships, investments, and product development opportunities.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct basic research on diagnostic companies, emerging technologies, and industry trends to support external innovation and technology scouting activities.
  • Assist with maintaining internal tracking tools and databases of companies, technologies, and competitive intelligence.
  • Summarize research findings in clear written formats such as spreadsheets, slides, or brief reports to support team discussions and evaluations.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to work designated weekday schedule.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in high school, preferably entering junior or senior year.
  • Strong computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).  
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in country where work will be performed on a full or part-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 must have the ability to provide a current work permit prior to the commencement of employment.

Salary Range:

$37,200.00 - $55,800.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - San Diego on a full-time basis.
