Job Description

Expert Test Engineer position for the Current and next Gen platforms iLO working with a world class team on Design and Qualification of the next generation infrastructure and lifecycle management portfolio of HPE products. Our highly committed team of engineers believe in achieving the best value for our customers by extreme collaboration and doing it right the first time!

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for firmware design and development across multiple platforms and solutions within the Global Business Unit.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the HPE iLO product, providing technical leadership, consultation, and hands-on qualification for product and solution validation.
  • Oversee and review automation initiatives, ensuring alignment with project quality objectives and continuous improvement goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Quality Engineering (QE), outsourced partners, and engineering value-chain stakeholders — to drive all phases of the Software Test Lifecycle (STLC).
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, innovations, and tools to ensure alignment with the organization’s technology roadmap and business strategy.
  • Review designs and project activities for compliance with system design principles, qualification standards, and regulatory requirements, providing actionable feedback to enhance product quality and reduce risk.
  • Contribute domain-specific expertise and technical leadership to strategic, cross-organizational programs and initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide QE team members, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and operational excellence.

You will work with a world class team on qualification and testing of the next generation infrastructure and lifecycle management portfolio of HPE products. What you need to bring:

Core Competencies:

  • Proven expertise and hands on experience in BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) testing across a broad range of platform features, including platform enablement, option cards, networking interfaces, server lifecycle management, power management, Redfish, security aspects such as LDAP integration, and Server Protocols.
  • Proficient in test automation frameworks and scripting for validation efficiency and coverage.
  • Solid grasp of the test ecosystem—including tools, infrastructure, data management, and automation integration.
  • In-depth understanding of server management and platform validation, with working knowledge of firmware and low-level system architecture.
  • Experienced in system setup and configuration involving CPU, memory, storage, NICs, PSUs, and HDDs.
  • Exposure to the application of AI/ML in software validation and quality engineering.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, with practical experience in iterative, sprint-based environments.

Technical & Leadership Skills:

  • Demonstrated technical leadership with a strong drive for results and ownership in an individual contributor capacity.
  • Familiarity with fault-tolerant and high-availability systems is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across global teams and technical domains.

Additional Skills:

  • Passion for end-to-end test automation covering both product functionality and customer use-case scenarios.
  • Familiarity with data center technologies, including servers, storage, and networking fundamentals.
  • Expertise in developing automation frameworks, tools, and simulators to improve testing scalability and repeatability.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated validation in build workflows.
