The Boeing CompanyBoeing Test & Evaluation is hiring an Experienced Systems Lab Test Technical Designer to join the Systems Laboratory team in Seattle, WA. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining engineering product definition for Systems laboratory test requirements and instrumentation of commercial and military programs.

This job supports the engineering and manufacture of non-production test equipment, electrical components and mechanical hardware through CAD design. Tasks involved within this job group include creating detailed CAD models, drawings and parts lists to support lab test equipment. Other tasks include redline changes for shop builds and working with engineering, shop and other lab teams. Other expectations include providing technical drafting support for multiple programs, the ability to work multiple projects and analyzing manufacturing data to recommend changes when needed.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains engineering product definition
Prepares design layouts and modifies existing designs
Develops statements of work, including design requirements, cost and schedule estimates
Coordinates and develops work transfer packages
Contributes to the integration of product definition across internal and external business partners to provide a functional end-product
Investigates and resolves moderately-complex manufacturing process, or engineering related issues
Verifies accuracy of engineering data produced by others
Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
Support Preliminary Design Review (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) meetings
Close coordination with design, manufacturing and fabrication teams
Manage drafting requirements and incorporate drawing changes to support business goals
Support the development, maintenance or modification of systems, components and installation designs to meet requirements and specifications
Review design requirements and modifications of Mechanical & Structural assemblies and installations
Review Configuration Management Requirements for Compliance prior releasing Lab test drawings
Work amongst cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Associate’s degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience
2+ years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)
3+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
Experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment
Ability to work collaboratively to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering and support teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences and be a self-starter.
Experience in Test and Evaluation Engineering
