Job Summary

Lead with purpose. Deliver with impact. Absa Vehicle Management Solutions is looking for an experienced AVMS Executive. The AVMS Executive role is accountable to lead the strategic direction of Absa Vehicle Management Solutions (AVMS), a wholly owned subsidiary and to manage the business team in order to achieve business and financial goals. The role is based within the Lending Product business area within Relationship Banking but operates across all clusters within Absa South Africa.

The primary purpose of the role is to:
• Develop and drive the strategy of AVMS in ensuring a market leading proposition design and execution thereof.
• Manage the P&L performance in achievement of our strategy to outperform through growing the business sustainably through new client acquisition and optimizing existing client relationships.
• Drive new and innovative solutions to enable client and colleague experience that improve client experience and colleague experience.
• Manage the embedment of the product across the value chain within absa to ensure all stakeholders are working to achieve business objectives with the focus on providing market leading propositions for the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), the car rental industry and commercial fleet owners.
• Oversee business practices in accordance with risk and compliance standards within the organization.

Job Description

·       Accountable for setting a long-term commercially viable strategy, including shaping strategic intent in terms of where to play and how to win in the marketplace.

·       As the accountable executive, continuously participate in the review of the AVMS strategies in collaboration with Lending Products Executive Committee, AVMS Board and stakeholders with the view to refine business plans to achieve maximum returns, return on equity, headline earnings, cost efficiency and income streams.

·       Maximise AVMS's position in identified markets regarding the identification of opportunities for potential corporate inorganic opportunities and major transactions.

·       Deal timeously with issues and opportunities arising from internal and external environmental changes and stakeholder requirements.

·       Directly accountable for all client coverage activities.  This includes defining and optimising the coverage model, sector strategy and required capabilities to support an integrated and enhanced client experience across segments, sectors and geographies.

·       Accountable for optimising the utilisation of Platforms and Digital Channels to transform the client experience and optimise cost-to-serve.

·       Delivers a compelling and insights led Product Proposition offering that aligns to and enables AVMS and Group client and sector strategies.

·       Responsible the Client value proposition and go to market strategies for AVMS in collaboration with Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) , Relationship Banking (RB) and Wealth Banking (where applicable).

·       Represent AVMS at the relevant forums i.e Savrala and governing bodies to build a network of supporters to better position the business.

·       Together with the respective functions and, where applicable, local leadership, own and drive Prudential and Regulatory relationships, pertaining to the AVMS businesses across all geographies.

·       Where required represent AVMS in board meetings as the managing director in the capacity as the AVMS accountable Executive.

·       Ensuring appropriate business planning including MTP, STP and RAF to meet business area financial contributions

·       Lead, develop, and motivate teams creating a high performance environment including continuous coaching and mentoring to the team with clear strategic direction to ensure outperformance against business plans.

·       Ensuring people management responsibility for direct reports and business area for performance management, development, under-performance, training, assuming reward and recognition, grievance and disciplinary action required.

 

Education and Experience Required

·       Postgraduate Degree in Business Management or Finance with a Executive Leadership Programme preferable.

·       Ten (10) plus years within Fleet or Leasing Management Institution with at least 5 years experience in a executive role leading a Fleet or Leasing Management strategy and team to achieve financial targets.

·       At least 5 years of leasing experience at an executive level.

·       Strong personal brand within the market with experience growing a brand with JSE Listed clients.

·       Track record of commercialization and delivery against financial goals.

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
