Job Description:

*** This is a 14 months contract opportunity***

The incumbent will be responsible for providing efficient and high-quality administrative support to the VP of Business Development and, to a lesser extent, support for any in-person meetings. The successful candidate will be a self-confident, creative, innovative thinker with superior organization and time management skills, and the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities. The role is fast paced with multiple demands and requires a demonstrated regard for confidentiality and a high level of judgment.

What will you do?

  • Manages all aspects of the VP’s calendar to ensure meetings are prioritised with internal and external clients/business partners as appropriate

  • Manages all travel arrangements

  • Manages the administrative budget work for the VP (expense reimbursements, purchase orders)

  • Monitors VP’s emails and manages those that request time for meetings.

  • Proactively anticipates the needs of the VP in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Assists in the preparation (including reviewing French version) and distribution of internal and external communications

  • Assists other leaders with administrative support as needed

  • May support events and perform other administrative duties as required

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an Executive Assistant supporting senior leaders

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in French and English

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Ability to perform with professionalism

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Able to be proactive and take initiative

  • Able to handle and maintain confidential company information

  • Able to make professional decisions.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
