Job Description:

The EVP, Strategic Commerce Accounts is a senior executive leader responsible for transforming how commerce and retail media strategy is designed, governed, and delivered across the dentsu’s most complex client accelerators. This role exists to bridge strategy and activation at scale, addressing systemic industry challenges, and bring solutions and best practices across commerce and retail media ecosystems. 

The EVP will lead media and commerce transformation across strategy, change management, and governance—ensuring that commerce accelerators, media frameworks, and activation models are deployed consistently, effectively, and in alignment with client business outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities 

Commerce & Retail Media Transformation Leadership 

  • Own and lead commerce and retail media transformation across strategic accounts, addressing structural challenges such as inconsistent standards, fragmented retailer ecosystems, and varying activation maturity. 

  • Define and embed futurestate commerce and media strategy frameworks that can scale across clients, verticals, and Media Practice teams. 

  • Act as the executive driver of change management, ensuring new ways of working, solutions, and governance models are adopted, not just designed. 

  • Elevate commerce from executionled activation to a strategic, governed, and repeatable growth engine. 

Strategy, Operating Model & Governance 

  • Establish and reinforce clear governance models across commerce strategy, media planning, activation, and measurement, clarifying ownership, decision rights, and accountability. 

  • Partner with activation leadership to standardize strategic inputs, planning rigor, and performance frameworks while allowing flexibility for retailer and market nuance. 

  • Drive alignment across media, CXM, creative, data, and technology teams to reduce duplication, inefficiency, and client confusion. 

  • Ensure commerce strategies are commercially sound, operationally viable, and measurable against client business outcomes. 

Partnership with Practices 

  • Operate as a true counterpart to the EVP, Commerce Media Activation, jointly modernizing the endtoend commerce operating model. 

  • Ensure strategy informs activation standards, and activation realities inform strategic design. 

  • Coown the transformation of planning, execution, and measurement into a more connected, scalable, and accountable system. 

  • Embed commerce and retail media strategy into broader customer experience and creative ecosystems, ensuring unified planning and delivery. 

  • Drive enterprise collaboration that eliminates silos and delivers a single, coherent client experience. 

Growth, Commercial Leadership & Client Stewardship 

  • Own executive accountability for organic growth and solution expansion across strategic commerce accounts. 

  • Shape commercial models that reflect the value of transformation, not just execution. 

  • Serve as senior client sponsor, navigating complexity, change, and organizational transformation at the client level. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Executive experience leading commerce, retail media, or media transformation within complex, multistakeholder environments. 

  • Demonstrated success driving operating model change, governance, and standardization across media or commerce organizations. 

  • Deep understanding of commerce and retail media ecosystems, including their structural limitations and evolving standards. 

  • Strong command across retail media and commerce partner ecosystem to influence standards, align roadmaps, and translate partner capabilities into scalable client solution 

  • Proven ability to lead change management at scale, influencing senior stakeholders and driving adoption across teams. 

  • Strong crossfunctional leadership across media, data, creative, and technology. 

  • Commercial acumen with experience delivering growth through transformation, not just scale. 

The annual base salary range for this position is $206,000 - $316,250.  Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.  Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
