General Function
The Events Intern assists in planning and organizing events on behalf of the Hy-Vee corporate office. In addition, they focus on all internal service, department and award events, assuring the highest quality of programs.
Reporting Relations
Accountable and Reports to you: Assistant Vice President, Special Events
Positions that Report to you: None
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists in planning, logistics, coordinating, and implementing various company-wide events in accordance with financial and time restraints.
2. Research vendors and venues.
3. Coordinate and compile information for various company awards.
4. Assists in scheduling, planning and implementing the corporate calendar of events.
5. Ensures meeting and event spaces are set up and broken down in a timely manner.
6. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as needed
7. Reports to work when scheduled and on time
Education and Experience
College student majoring in Event Management or Hospitality Management.
Working Conditions
The duties of this position are performed primarily in a general office setting, with frequent work at other venues. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
Contacts
Has daily contact with store and office personnel, suppliers/vendor/venues and the general public.

Physical Requirements
• Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, and frequent standing and walking
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
