We are looking to fill our Event Manager opening, which is located at Target Center in Minneapolis, MN, home of the MN Timberwolves and MN Lynx.
This position is responsible for planning and executing assigned events at Target Center, including Timberwolves and Lynx games, concerts, meetings, and special events. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-profile live entertainment environment. Collaborative, curious, and composed, they ask the right questions, anticipate challenges, and make clear, confident decisions under pressure. With a hands-on approach and a willingness to roll up their sleeves, they deliver exceptional experiences for clients, partners, and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and oversee all operational aspects of assigned NBA and WNBA games, concerts, meetings, and special events, managing the full lifecycle from initial planning through execution.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with promoters, clients, and internal departments to enhance event delivery and operational efficiency.
Maintain positive, timely communication with clients and serve as a primary venue resource throughout the event process, including event day.
Lead or support weekly Event Meetings, effectively communicating and delegating event details to relevant departments.
Assist in identifying operational challenges and opportunities for process improvement, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
Create comprehensive event notes that outline requirements, timelines, and responsibilities for each event.
Manage multiple events and projects simultaneously, consistently delivering high-quality results on deadline.
Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Bachelor’s degree required.
1–3 years of related work experience.
Highly organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and strong decision-making under pressure.
Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external clients/tenants.
Ability to lead teams or staff involved in event setup and execution.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Frequent movement throughout the venue, including climbing stairs.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds.
Experience in special events, sporting events, or concerts.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar event-layout software.
