Job Description:

Job Specific Overview:

Provide co-ordination, oversight and challenge across the EU markets trading team to provide support to the teams and ensure they are operating with a sustainable business model, a clear risk‑aligned business operations, robust governance and effective regulatory engagement. Further supports on risk and trading performance oversight, as well as governance and supervisory responsibilities collaborating with FICC and EQ EU/ BofASE markets heads.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Support and help to coordinate the EU markets aligned to the global markets business.

  • Lead and execute on objectives including Operational Excellence, global workforce planning and location items, capacity management, communications, priority setting, operational risk and control, process improvement and automation, and organizational health across EU markets team

  • Provide independent challenge ensuring alignment to stated risk appetite and longer‑term value creation.

  • Supports on risk and trading performance oversight, as well as governance and supervisory responsibilities collaborating with FICC and EQ EU/ BofASE markets heads

  • Proactively contribute to and drive execution of key priorities, engaging with Markets and entity level SLT on key decisions to drive the GM EMEA agenda.

  • Ensure financial controls, risk‑management frameworks, and the broader control environment remain robust, effective, and proactively monitored for gaps. Maintain strong, well‑governed financial controls and risk‑management systems, supported by continuous oversight of the wider control environment

  • Oversee remediation where weaknesses are identified, ensuring resources and plans are appropriate.

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Articles of Association and enterprise policies.

  • Provide leadership across key stakeholders in supportive of the technology initiatives of the GM EU agenda.

  • Proactively resolve broad operational issues and coordinate activities and processes with other business/operations segments
