ETCS Procurement Manager (Secondment / Fixed Term Contract)
We have an exciting opportunity for an ECTS Procurement Manager to join the XC ETCS team to lead on all programme procurement activities, helping to prepare XC for the digital signalling future.
Responsibilities will include;
Purpose of Job & Principal Accountabilities
To represent XC as part of the wider fitment team, working alongside industry colleagues from the ROSCO and supply chain.
To lead the Technical System Integration within a System of Systems
Safety leadership relevant to the introduction of new systems
Coordinate the internal technical and operational business aspects required to ensure compliance with the new ETCS infrastructure on CrossCountry train routes.
Coordinate required business case(s) elements associated with implementation of technical changes incorporating all elements from fleet readiness.
Lead ETCS readiness for fleet, defining any team requirements and managing this team when getting to implementation phase.
Attend industry meetings as required and represent CrossCountry, and liaise across the business to ensure information, risks and issues are disseminated appropriately.
Ensuring that the CrossCountry Safety Management System adequately and accurately records arrangements in place to control risks arising from ETCS Fleet Fitment.
Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Training
Ideally, you will be:
Skilled in compiling robust tender and commercial documents;
Demonstrable experience in running tenders and leading complex procurement activities;
Demonstrable experience in leading commercial negotiations
Experience in procuring direct and indirect goods and services particularly within an IT, Rail or transport related industry, ideally with ETCS / project / programme experience
Good appreciation of supply market for technical services;
Good stakeholder relationship skills;
Spend analysis skills, advanced excel required;
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (or actively working towards);
Essential
Demonstrated experience in the management of suppliers.
Demonstrated experience in the management of e-procurement systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of the rail industry and purchasing limitations
Desirable
ETCS knowledge and background
The role will be based in York, but alternative locations may be considered including Birmingham and Leeds.
We are very happy to received applications for part time working / job shares or alternative flexible working, however there will be a requirement to be office based for a proportion of the week. Travel between locations will also be essential.
