About the Role

Workday is seeking an ESG Reporting Manager who wants to make their mark on a growing organization and Workday’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) program. The candidate should be a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and enjoy collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the team’s mission to develop compliant, comparable, and reliable Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures required by governing bodies.

  • Design and implement controls throughout the ESG reporting process, working with Internal Controls on the ESG control framework and governance.

  • Be a trusted advisor and liaison between Controllership, Sustainability, Legal, and various other business functions to provide leadership and guidance to advance the Company’s ESG strategy while delivering timely and accurate reporting.

  • Maintain a broad understanding of the ESG reporting landscape, working with Legal, including various reporting frameworks and standards and disclosure legislation, and participating in external benchmarking.

  • Execute against and support a clear project plan and organizational roadmap for new ESG reporting requirements including identifying and remediating gaps, driving accountability, drafting disclosures, and presenting status updates to key stakeholders.

  • Participate in ESG materiality assessment and scoping deliverables.

  • Ensure third-party assurance readiness of ESG data, including sufficient documentation of completeness and accuracy, collaborate with internal and external assurance providers, etc.

  • Participate in information gathering and supporting third-party assurance engagements of ESG disclosures.

  • Implement a framework for evaluation of changes in information.

  • Develop and present training to diverse cross-functional business partners and stakeholders on control requirements and ESG standards.

  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to drive positive change and create efficiencies.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and 8+ years of related experience.

  • Direct experience with ESG accounting, internal controls and process design and implementation.

  • Proficient in US GAAP Accounting and solid understanding of general ledger/financial statements.

  • Direct experience in a compliance-focused area of responsibility.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience executing strategic processes and initiatives within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and sophisticated environment.

  • Master's Degree or CPA license strongly preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to optimally identify and scope issues, apply the relevant knowledge base and make decisions with conviction and/or escalate as needed.

  • Enjoys navigating ambiguity and creating infrastructure that is appropriate for current needs and scalable for future requirements.

  • Business partnering and cross-funcional collaboration skills with the ability to steward large groups of stakeholders.

  • Ability to capture different points of view, and create recommended approaches, influencing across multiple functions.

  • Ability to succinctly synthesize vast amounts of information and distill relevant facts.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor communication to various audiences.

  • Strong Excel skills and ability to handle a high volume of data.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $152,200 USD - $228,400 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $128,600 USD - $228,400 USD
