Equipment & Maintenance Technician

General Summary 

The Equipment & Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing equipment repairs and preventative maintenance in an effort to ensure studio standards and maintain high-level functionality with minimal impact on production operations. 

Job Functions 

  • Perform installation, modification, upgrades, and maintenance on equipment throughout the facility (e.g., building and production equipment, machines, tooling, forklifts, scissor lifts, and vehicles). 
  • Maintain machine shop and wood shop related equipment (e.g., table saw, knee mill, lathes, grinders, band saws, water jet, etc.).
  • Perform day-to-day preventative maintenance and safety inspections, reporting any unsafe working conditions and/or faulty equipment.
  • Track all maintenance requests and follow on work order status to ensure completion.
  • Order, inventory, and store maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Assist as point of contact for equipment and maintenance information and support for procedures. 
  • Participate in new machinery research, identification, installations, and projects.
  • Assist with maintenance contracts for all studio equipment.
  • Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.  

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years’ experience with equipment maintenance.
  • Certification in a specialized maintenance field, a plus.
  • Knowledge of CMMS programs.
  • Knowledge of laser/water jet cutters and automated machinery centers.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and finding innovative solutions to problems.  
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and self-motivated.  
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to set priorities and timelines.

  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or moderate.
