This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Supervisor, Automation & Control Engineering, is primarily responsible for leading a team in designing, developing, and maintaining instrument/electrical and automation control systems. You will apply control theory, analyze system behavior, and ensure efficient task completion. Strong supervisory skills, communication, and problem-solving are essential.

Specifics Include:

• Oversee team members in designing, developing, implementing, operating, and maintaining control systems
• Focus on mathematical modeling, analyzing system behavior, and applying control theory
• Ensure efficient task completion and adherence to processes
• Make day-to-day decisions affecting team members
• Foster a culture of excellence through performance management and talent development
• Drive positive employee relations and enhance engagement and recognition
• Ensure adherence to GxP regulations and Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation and rigorous quality control
• Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements
• Contribute to overall compliance and continuous improvement of the organization All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations​.

Minimum requirements:

- Demonstratable experience in the design and manufacture of precision part assemblies and/or equipment design (8+ years)

- Experience leading a team (2+ years) of diverse experience and skills levels. Ability to communicate cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the business, including Production and Engineering so as to dynamically prioritise and allocate tasks

- A tertiary degree qualification in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Engineering.

- Strong knowledge of GD&T

Ideal requirements:
- Design or development of high-precision optical, opto-mechanical, or electronic equipment, tools, or products.

- Understanding of Verification and Validation processes under ISO13485.

- Understanding of machine safety code AS 4024

Note that this is a hybrid role, with varied responsibilities including team leadership, hardware design, and hands on station assembly.
