Purpose and Scope The Environmental Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the environmental program to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations (both US and Australian) and company policies. This position supports a multi-disciplined facility located southwest of Alice Springs, including additional infrastructure within the Alice Springs township. The facility operates self-sufficiently, handling power generation, water supply, waste management, chemical use, maintenance, warehousing, transportation, dining, and health and fitness services.
Qualifications
· Essential: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or a related field.
· Desirable: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Tickets and Licenses
· Essential: Driver’s License.
· Desirable: Construction Induction (White Card), Working at Heights.
Experience and Skills
· 3-5 years work experience in the environmental science field.
· Basic knowledge of computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, data entry).
· High-level communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Strong planning and organizational skills.
Work Environment and Demands
· Ability to lift up to 20 kg independently.
· The role includes approximately equal time spent on office work and fieldwork.
· Fieldwork involves industrial spaces (e.g., powerplants) and high-heat exterior areas.
· Constant vision and mental alertness are required.
Security Clearance Requirement Employment at JDFPG requires obtaining and retaining an NV1 Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian), along with necessary medical clearance.
