What You''ll Do: 

  • ​Lead, develop, organize, and implement site EHS&S programs to reduce risk, prevent injuries and incidents, and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, corporate, and divisional requirements, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMPs, encompassing employee safety, industrial hygiene, fire protection, environmental compliance, occupational health, and site security.
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert (SME) for environmental, health, safety, and security regulations, maintaining deep, current working knowledge of evolving local, state, and federal requirements, and translating regulatory and technical risk into practical, actionable guidance for leaders on operational changes, engineering projects, new equipment installations, and process modifications.
  • Serve as the primary site EHS&S point of accountability, interfacing with regulatory agencies, auditors, and inspectors; leading site inspections and audits; managing regulatory correspondence; and ensuring timely, effective implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Establish, execute, and continuously improve site EHS&S goals, strategy, and objectives aligned with corporate and divisional initiatives; proactively identify and assess existing and emerging risks; analyze leading and lagging performance indicators; and prioritize and drive execution across concurrent audits, investigations, projects, and improvement initiatives through direct and indirect reports and cross‑functional site leadership.
  • Lead and oversee incident investigations, ensuring timely and effective root cause analysis, verification of corrective and preventive actions, and clear communication of lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee site security programs and personnel, emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity planning, ensuring programs are current, tested, communicated, understood, and compliant with applicable internal and external requirements to mitigate risk and protect people, assets, and operations.
  • Oversee operation of the site Human Performance Center, including fitness schedules, wellness initiatives, and coordination of resources to support employee health and well‑being.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site EHS&S procedures, practices, and guidelines aligned with corporate EHS technical and management systems, ensuring clear, timely, decision‑ready communication to site and executive leadership.
  • Influence, coach, and advise cross‑functional leaders and employees at all levels to reinforce accountability, engagement, and a strong culture of EHS&S ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the site EHS&S team through effective coaching, performance management, training, succession planning, and retention of a diverse, high‑performing organization.
  • Manage the EHS&S departmental budget, resources, and strategic capital planning, ensuring effective allocation to support site priorities, compliance obligations, and sustained performance.
  • Serve as a member of the EHS&S senior leadership team, providing strategic counsel on risk, compliance, and business impact, and integrating EHS&S strategy into overall site business decisions and operational planning for the Franklin County location.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, supply chain, operations, EHS, or closely related environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks and site‑level compliance expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and levels without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical risk into decision‑ready information.

Preferred

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification
  • OSHA 30‑hour or equivalent safety certification.
  • Hazardous Materials Transportation experience.
  • Prior experience supporting regulated manufacturing or FDA‑regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership of site security or emergency response programs.

The base pay for this position is

$113,300.00 – $226,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
