Collins Aerospace is seeking a Data Scientist to help unlock the power of data across our organization. In this role, you will analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and deliver insights that influence strategic decisions and enhance performance across the company.
**This is a hybrid position in Puerto Rico**
What YOU will do:
Effectively plan and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams supporting multiple key business initiatives
Aggregate, filter, and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that are then delivered as visualizations for leadership to understand performance and draw conclusions on process improvement and compliance assurance opportunities.
Provide day-to-day ad hoc analysis to address the immediate needs of the business.
Ensure data integrity and quality by reviewing data, identifying unusual occurrences, seeking explanations and assisting in developing corrections to prevent reoccurrences.
Create scorecards, drill down dashboards, and detailed reports for executive leadership and the organization to run the business on.
Build interactive, intuitive, engaging, and attractive visualizations.
Maintain on-going dashboard ownership, user support, and accountability.
What You Will Learn:
Understanding of operations and supply chain processes.
Data-driven-product planning, design, implementation, deployment, and sustainment in a matrixed organization.
Foundational data sources and key performance metrics depended by Collins Operations and Supply Chain to build quality data products.
Designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining tasks, procedures, views, and ETL pipelines.
Qualifications YOU Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience If position is Engineering/Other Technical Position:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Experience in operations, supply chain, data engineering, and/or data analytics or bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, economics, or related technical field.
Experience using MRP, ERP, and MES systems (SAP preferred).
Experience in design, implementations, and optimization in relational SQL databases.
Experience with data cleansing, curation, mining, manipulation, and analysis from disparate systems (SQL, Python preferred).
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations.
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment remotely.
Experience in a technical or software development environment.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience with driving process improvements (e.g., CORE, 6Sigma, etc.)
