This is an exciting leadership opportunity to oversee the strategic direction and future evolution of Enterprise Testing Services (for both BAU and Investment Committee‑funded initiatives), encompassing testing strategy, methodologies, standards, test automation, AI‑enabled quality engineering, and capability uplift, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes.
To achieve this you will:
Contribute to and shape the broader strategic direction of Enterprise Testing and Quality Engineering, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance, outcomes, and the long‑term maturity of testing, automation, and AI‑enabled quality practices to meet the current and future needs of the Bank.
Ensure operational accountability and effectiveness across testing methodologies, standards, processes and tools, owning the strategic uplift of test automation, intelligent test execution, and AI‑assisted quality practices across BAU and project delivery.
Continue to implement and evolve the Enterprise Test Maturity Roadmap, strengthening test assurance and governance across all projects and BAU, with an increased focus on automation‑first principles, data‑driven testing, AI‑assisted test design, optimisation, and reporting.
SDLC authority across IT and RBA to support the various business departments, with an aim to drive consistent best practices which are RBA and industry aligned.
Proactively integrate Enterprise Testing Services into the future IT Operating Model, working in partnership with Architecture, Engineering and Delivery teams to embed quality upfront, leverage automation and AI at scale, and drive simplification across tooling, platforms and processes.
Manage internal and external relationships, communicating and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders to successfully deliver change, whilst ensuring steady and scalable capability by proactively engaging suppliers and vendors, balancing internal capability uplift with external partnerships to accelerate automation, AI adoption and innovation.
Provide strategic advice in relation to business change, investment cases, frameworks and planning, ensuring quality engineering, automation and AI considerations are embedded early in initiative design and funding decisions.
Lead, guide and develop individuals and teams to achieve agreed outcomes, building deep capability in automation, modern testing techniques, data‑driven quality practices and emerging AI tooling, whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

You will lead a collaborative, diverse team of 4 direct reports and multiple indirect, with a great supportive culture. Our people collaborate, share their expertise, drive innovation and solve complex business challenges.
Your background
We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience in leading a Testing practice and providing guidance and coaching to team members. You with require experience in building and maturing a Testing or Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence, including automation strategy, AI‑assisted quality capabilities, tooling rationalisation, metrics, and enterprise‑wide ways of working. Finally you will require experience in using a Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and have proven experience in largescale IT project management.
Experience in Agile transformations and applying Lean thinking at a practice level would be advantageous.
