Job Summary: You will serve as an Engineer or Scientist (Navy Energetics Manufacturing Technology Center (EMTC) Director) in the Energetics Manufacturing Technology Department (M) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

Major Duties:

  • You will manage all Energetics Manufacturing Technology Center activities. and identify technology development needs to improve manufacturing of energetics, using resources throughout government, academia, and industry.
  • You will provide budget requirements to Office of Naval Research (ONR) and support budget related data calls and justifications.
  • You will develop, manage, and fund specific technology development projects both within Navy and other government labs as well as throughout the energetics industry and academic institutions.
  • You will coordinate and support the transition of developed energetics manufacturing technology into the manufacturing environment, including generating Navy program office support and funding.
  • You will remain current on developments in manufacturing Science and Technology.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer or Scientist implementing new equipment, advancing manufacturing technology, or resolving manufacturing problems in support of the energetics manufacturing community.
